eCom Learning Solutions, with Partners British Council, BUILA, and UKCISA, a finalist in two prestigious categories at the PIEoneer Awards 2023!

eCom Learning Solutions, in collaboration with the British Council, the British Universities' International Liaison Association (BUILA), and the UK Council for International Student Affairs (UKCISA), is pleased to have reached the final of the PIEoneer Awards 2023 in two prestigious categories - Digital innovation of the year - technology, and Digital innovation of the year - student recruitment. This is in recognition of our collaborative effort in developing the British Council Agent and Counsellor Hub, which simplifies the process for education agents and counsellors working with international students to find and access the support they need, instilling greater confidence in choosing the UK as a study destination.

Built on eCom's eNetEnterprise Learning & Assessment platform, the Hub is the first of its kind - a national digital platform supporting the UK’s agent quality framework efforts to improve the expertise of agents and counsellors globally, enhancing the international student experience.

The open-access hub, free to all education advisors, has already engaged over 10,000 agents and counsellors from more than 120 countries, marking significant strides toward achieving its mission of elevating the global student experience. It provides a pathway for newcomers to upskill through training before taking an assessment, while those professionals with a high level of expertise, can proceed directly to the assessment stage.

The platform offers a self-service, fully accessible training and assessment suite replete with resources that empower agents and counsellors to better support international students in their UK educational journey. This flexible system allows professionals to prepare for assessments at their own pace and from any location, accommodating diverse schedules and learning styles. Furthermore, the platform accelerates the qualification process for agents and counsellors through automatic marking, immediate feedback, and digital certification, ensuring that international students can more quickly connect with qualified professionals for timely and effective support.

After passing the Hub’s assessment, agents and counsellors must commit to the UK National Code of Ethical Practice for UK Education Agents. Upon agreement, they are added to the British Council's publicly searchable database, which leverages eCom technology. The database allows agents and counsellors to update their profiles in real-time and offers direct links to their social media, enabling students to easily contact them.

Wendy Edie, Managing Director at eCom, added, "We're delighted to have reached the final for these prestigious awards. To have come this far underscores the effectiveness of our platform in broadening access to UK education worldwide. Our work on the Hub continues to yield impactful results, and we're committed to supporting British Council in this vital mission."

Jacqui Jenkins, Global Programme Lead-International Student Mobility at the British Council, commented, "Making the final for these awards is a testament to our efforts in addressing the need for transparent, ethical practices in international student recruitment eco-system. By expediting the certification of agents and counsellors, we're ensuring that students have access to agents that have the required knowledge and awareness, helping them make informed choices about their UK education journey. Our thanks extend to all our partners for their invaluable contributions."
