Accessible Technologies - Challenging the Conventions of Workforce Learning

eCom were delighted to host a roundtable discussion, on Thursday 24th May 2018, on the topic of ‘Accessible Technologies - Challenging the Conventions of Workforce Learning’.

Senior business leaders from organisations across Scotland gathered for a stimulating and lively discussion, guided by chair, Linda Steedman, CEO, eCom Scotland.

Key themes from the conversation included:

  • ‘Robotics, Cobotics and the Future of Work’
  • ‘How can Learning Technologies impact on productivity/ gain’
  • ‘Learning Technologies as positive disruptor –disrupting the workforce of the future through technology - that puts the “human” back into human capital’


eCom Scotland Roundtable


A strong theme from the discussion was around the need to develop new skills in the current workforce for the changing roles of tomorrow. This is being driven by changing business models being adopted, strongly influenced by automation and digital transformation.  The impact of industry 4.0; the drive for better staff engagement and productivity; and the need to retain a positive culture change were the areas of most interest.
