Here is a selection of current projects that showcase the R&D and community support provided by eCom.

 

 

Ufi - Assessing Reality Impact Project - Completed

This Impact project was completed in 2020, and added to the work of a previous seed project, assisted us to work with Subject Matter Experts in Further Education and Awarding Bodies to develop an authoring tool that non-technical staff could use to create Virtual Reality experiences used for learning and assessment. InnovateUK - SUPERIOR - Feasibility Project

This project starting March 2021 allows the development of tools to provide support for Haptics and “realspace” control of robots using Virtual Reality within our eNetReality authoring tool.

 

 

 

Interface and University of Dundee - Innovation Voucher/Grant Application Approved

This project allows University of Dundee will support eCom on the development of VR Haptics for use in learning situations, where they will make their User experience lab available to analyse the VR haptic activity and user interface.

 

 

 

IEEE P1484.20.2 Recommended Practices for Defining Competency

This initiative is to develop a set of Recommendations for non-technical users to support the deployment of the new IEEE P1484.20.1 Data Model for Defining Competency. Linda Steedman, eCom CEO is the Secretary of this Working Group, and an active participant in the writing of the Recommended Practice standard. Find out more.

Scotland IS skills framework

Our Managing Director, Wendy Edie, has joined the Strategic Skills Board of ScotlandIS, the body that builds, supports and enables Scotland’s digital technology ecosystem. ScotlandIS has created the Strategic Skills Board to help bridge the country’s digital skills gap and provide strategic advice to this burgeoning sector. Find out more.
